Things To Do In Cabo San Lucas!

Cabo is renowned for its nightlife and partying, but there are so many other things to do rather than just drinking, this is a beautiful resort destination that has more than enough to keep couples, families, and party-goers alike entertained.

Cabo in of itself can be a pretty special destination with some remarkable landscapes, amazing weather, beautiful turquoise waters, and some of the most spectacular sunsets you may ever see, I highly recommend that you visit if you were considering doing so!

There are a ton of different things for you to see, do and enjoy, here I will dive into some of the best things that you can do throughout Cabo, lets see if we can make that Mexican getaway even more memorable!

Here is my personal list of some of the best things that you can do while visiting Cabo, Mexico.

1. Snorkeling / Scuba Diving

This is without a doubt one of the most memorable things that I have ever done in my life, and I'm honestly not sure if that is a good or bad thing!

Regardless or not of how adventurous my life may or may not be, this really is one of those excursions you'd be crazy to miss out on, especially in Cabo!

Just remember that the water in Cabo will be some of the clearest water you may ever see in your life, making this a must-do for those without any fears or phobias of diving, I grew up with some of the wildest, coldest and dark waters of the Atlantic, to experience something like this was nothing short of remarkable.

There are quite a few different companies throughout Cabo that provide scuba diving and snorkeling excursions, so make sure to shop around before you visit, and try to get the best deal possible for yourself.

Pro Tip: Whatever you do, make sure you book with a reputable business! You would not believe how many people and scammers there are in Cabo and other tourist destinations throughout Mexico that don't have the correct experience, knowledge, or even licenses to be operating such a business, you will be putting yourself and others in danger by trying to save a few dollars, do yourself a favour and do it the right way.

2. Humpback Whale Watching

This is by far one of the most satisfying and majestic things that you may ever see! You would not think it at first, but this one of those surprising excursions that will surely amaze you!

You can go whale watching in quite a few places throughout the Mexican coast, but few places do it better than Cabo San Lucas. Once again there are quite a few different cruises and tours on offer in Cabo San Lucas for you to choose from, different companies will offer different services and packages giving you a variety to choose from so make sure to do some shopping around and choose what is right for you.

You aren't always guaranteed to see a whale but the companies that do provide these tours do a pretty good job of finding the right spots just in time to catch these wonderful beasts.

3. Sunset Sail And Dinner

So this is one of the things that are more popular amongst couples on a romantic getaway but of course, individuals and families can also do so, this seems to be very popular amongst both young and old couples, and sure why wouldn't it be, this could very easily be one of the most romantic meals you may eat while away!

A lot of this may sound like I'm trying really hard to sell you on something, but I genuinely believe that having a nice juicy steak or some of the freshest fish while watching the sun come down over Cabo San Lucas or anywhere else along the Mexican coast for that matter will be nothing short of magical, and yes I used the word magical! Seems fitting enough for me.

Unfortunately magical doesn't come cheap! But don't worry, with a little bit of luck and some searching around you can actually find some good deals, depending of course on what time of year and day you choose to go on.

I recommend that you check out Wild Cabo tours, they have a small fleet of cruises for you to choose from, this is one of the more popular choices amongst visitors to the region, they provide luxury dinner tours, snorkeling activities, party boats, and more.

4. El Arco de Cabo San Lucas

This is probably not the first article you have read about things to do in Cabo San Lucas, and it's most likely not going to be your last, no matter how much I'd like it to be! But this list wouldn't' be complete without mentioning El Arco de Cabo San Lucas, if I'm recommending that you visit and everyone else is, there's probably a good reason!

This is one of those fantastic natural wonders which would be a shame to miss, if you were visiting anywhere in Cabo, it's one thing to see photographs online, but to actually visit this place and to witness with your own eyes the sheer size of this rock formation, it makes you realize just how small we are in this magnificent planet!

Depending on the time of year you visit, you can actually walk along the small sandy shore of this fantastic rock formation, another plus is you are nearly guaranteed to see some sea lions as well.

5. Off-Road ATV Adventure

So this might not be for everyone, but I do fancy myself to be a bit of an adrenaline junkie sometimes, I know supervised quading can hardly count as an extreme anything, but to be fair there is something quite exhilarating about driving a four-wheeler at full speed through and over sand dunes in a foreign country.

This is definitely something for the thrill-seekers and it's sure to get the heart pumping, I highly recommend it, even for couples, the other half can cruise around while you let it rip, or be a gentleman and hang back, take it easy, and let the good times roll!

6. Explore Downtown

I'm not going to rant and rave about how special Downtown Cabo is, because in truth there are many other small towns and cities throughout Mexico that are full of life, culture, and amazing people, now that's not saying Cabo is not like that, because it can be, but there are much better places to visit in Mexico if you are looking for some real tradition and culture.

Although Cabo is very much an Americanized city in Mexico, it is worth exploring and having a little ramble about, you might be pleasantly surprised by what you might find!

During the summer and peak travel times, you'll find street performers, tasty food stalls, and reps trying to pull you into their restaurant club or bar, I know reps can be quite annoying sometimes but they can get you free or cheaper drinks and provide special deals, don't forget that!

7. Dance The Night Away At EL SQUID ROE

El Squid Roe is a restaurant, bar and club, and a pretty popular place to be! While the food is nice here it's nothing to write home about, thankfully we're not talking about the food here though because come sundown this place really comes to life!

The night club scene may not be for everyone, but for those of my readers who love dancing the night away, this is definitely the place to be!

This is also one of those places that you need to be very careful, and always be aware of your surroundings, if any of you have read any of my other articles you will have noticed I'm pretty keen on staying safe, especially when traveling in Mexico or any other foreign country.

Regardless of where you are in the world any nightclub or late-night bar can be dangerous, these kinds of places, unfortunately, attract pickpockets and sexual deviants, this is because drunk tourists make for easy targets, one other thing watch out for is the prices of drinks, I've heard rumours of overcharging, I'm not sure if it is true or not but If I genuinely believed this establishment was ripping people off then I would not be recommending that you visit.

Here is a link to one of my other articles on staying safe in Mexico, you should definitely check it out if you plan on taking a trip there and have never been. https://www.traverstravels.net/post/is-los-cabos-safe

8. Enjoy A Romantic Meal At PITAHAYAS RESTAURANT

One of the more expensive meals you may pay for in Cabo will be at Pitahayas, but it is worth every penny to eat here. This is a beachside restaurant that will not only provide you with stunning views and amazing sunsets, but the food is incredible! Your taste buds will thank you, I promise!

Don't be afraid to ask for the chef's special, this can change from time to time but it's usually a fish related dish, you have to live a little, take a chance and try something new, you won't regret it!

One more thing, this place is usually busy, so make sure to book a table in advance.

You can find the website for the restaurant right here:

I hope you have a great trip, and remember if you are in need of some advice, have any questions, or just want to say hello, don't be afraid to do so! You can always reach me using the contact link just above.
